This is a stereoscope card from 1905, titled “No. 92. A Japanese Trench Guard at Mess.” It shows a group of five Japanese soldiers seated in a trench, appearing to be eating a meal. They are all wearing dark blue uniforms with peaked caps. They are seated on the ground, and in front of each soldier is a small bowl and spoon. The trench walls are made of dirt and grass. The background is blurred, but appears to be more vegetation. The image is a side-by-side view, typical of stereoscope cards, creating a 3D effect when viewed through a stereoscope. The card is slightly faded and shows signs of age, but the image is still clear and detailed.
